Kybella Anticipated Results
Kybella is an injectable medicine that is a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a bile salt that occurs naturally in the body. Kybella is approved to break up fat cells in the submental area, under the chin, and the neck region. This helps flatten or reduce the excess skin and volume around the neck, diminishing the appearance of a double chin. Our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Lawrence Bass, often uses Kybella as an alternative to neck liposuction or neck lifts since it is a fully noninvasive procedure with no downtime. Our New York, NY patients can receive the benefits of Kybella for years to come, making it one of the longer-lasting injectable treatments on the market. We offer private consultations at Bass Plastic Surgery at either our Great Neck or Manhattan location to patients who are interested in learning more.

What to Expect with Kybella®
A number of small injections will be made in the fat under the chin during this outpatient procedure. If pain or discomfort will be an issue, a local numbing agent can be administered prior to a Kybella treatment. The treatment typically lasts around 15 – 20 minutes. Since 2 – 6 treatments are usually needed, they will be spaced out about a month apart. Some swelling and firmness may occur in the treated areas, but this will subside shortly after.
best Candidates for Kybella
Some patients may show improvement after just one injection of Kybella. However, most patients will require 2 or more treatments to achieve their optimal results. The results can begin to appear after one month, but the treated area will continue to show improvement until around 3 months after the last session. Overall, patients can enjoy a slimmer, firmer neck and chin for potentially years to come if they follow proper diet and exercise.
Diet and exercise aren’t always enough to combat a double chin, and sometimes liposuction surgery isn’t a viable option. However, Kybella can rid you of that double chin with no surgery and no downtime. To find out if you’re a candidate for this remarkable treatment, contact our New York, NY office today to schedule a consultation.
