About Brow Lift Surgery
Most people develop some drooping of the brow with age. Correction of this drooping or brow ptosis requires brow lifting, usually performed endoscopically by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Lawrence Bass. This endoscopic approach minimizes incisions, trauma, and recovery time compared to traditional brow lifting. Additional options exist for men with receeding hairlines to avoid visible scars. Whether patients require a simple brow lift or one combined with an eyelid surgery will be determined during a medical consultation at Bass Plastic Surgery, PLLC. Looking younger, more rested and alert is a great benefit from having a brow lift, yielding a greater degree of brow elevation and long-term results as opposed to injections that require constant maintenance. Patients can contact our New York, NY office today to learn about which treatment is right for achieving the youthful look that they desire.

"Great Surgeon for Male Rhinoplasty - Dr. Bass performed my rhinoplasty along with a medically indicated septoplasty. I'm happy with the results, in terms of both look and function (i.e. snoring is cured, breathing noticeably improved).Male rhinoplasty is a difficult procedure to get right; my understanding is that it has a lower patient satisfaction rate than most cosmetic procedures. Thus, it is especially important to find the right surgeon with the knowledge, skill and experience, who can discuss expectations in a clear and honest manner. I fully recommend Dr. Bass.Dr. Bass is very patient and caring, especially for a surgeon of his renown. Pre-operative consultation was very thorough and he was generous with his time. Recovery from any nasal surgery is unpleasant and good post-operative care is important; again, I'm pleased with his & his staff's empathy and responsiveness. Finally, I'm grateful that Dr. Bass was able to accommodate my schedule and coordinate with her colleague Dr. Franziska Huettner (another outstanding surgeon), so I could have multiple procedures with the downtime of one."- A. / RealSelf / Aug 23, 2020

What To Expect
Brow lift surgeries are performed in one of our accredited surgical centers as an outpatient procedure. For brow surgery, small incisions are placed in low visibility areas, such as behind the hairline or in the upper eyelid crease. The most common brow lift techniques are the limited incision lateral brow lift, and endoscopic brow lift, which will be chosen based on the patient's goals and their individual features. Browlifting through an incision in the upper eyelid crease is possible for individuals with receeding hairlines. These modern options utilized by Dr. Bass typically require fewer incisions and less recovery time than the traditional open browlift. Once the incisions are made, our surgeon will elevate the forhead skin and reduce muscle fibers responsible for dynamic wrinkles in the forehead and between the brows. The forehead skin is then fixed in an elevated position at an appropriate level to widen the eye area creating a more awake look and to shape the brow.
Brow lift surgery usually takes between 1 and 2 hours, Most patients take 1 –2 weeks to recover after a brow lift, but they are generally able to drive and return to work in 1 week. For the first days after the surgery, patients should expect swelling in the forehead area as well as some temporary bruising, discomfort, tightness, and numbness. Dr. Bass will talk to each patient about what they need to do during their recovery and provide tips for an easier process. While visible improvements can be seen right away, the final results of the brow lift are usually seen several months after the surgery.
Awake, Alert, Ageless
Many patients fear that a brow lift will leave them looking permanently surprised, unnaturally wide eyed, or like they have obviously had plastic surgery. A plastic surgeon with experience in brow lift surgery, like Dr. Bass, will focus on creating a younger, natural-looking appearance that refreshes the face without any unnatural signs that plastic surgery has been performed. After brow lift surgery, patients will look more awake, more alert, and more like the age they feel.
